And on Thursday, George P. Bush, the Republican Texas land commissioner who also has a famous grandfather, let it be known he smells the same blood. And it belongs to Ken Paxton, the present attorney general who’s been under indictment for nearly all of his six years in office.
The indictment on securities fraud charges that Paxton denies was handed down in 2015. But the trial has been on indefinite pause amid such squabbles as where it should be held and how much the special prosecutors should be paid.
